Paavo Järvi and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra will perform
a special fundraising concert for Princeton City Schools on
Tuesday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. at Princeton High School featuring
the Orchestra's principal trumpet, Robert Sullivan. Proceeds from
the March 23 concert will benefit district-wide music education
and instrumental music programs. Following the concert attendees
are invited to go backstage to Princeton High School's
"Viking Room" to meet Maestro Järvi and CSO musicians.
"I am pleased that the CSO can help support band and orchestra
programs because music education is very important to me and to
the Orchestra," said CSO Music Director Paavo Järvi. "I am always
very energized by these performances in the community."
"The Princeton City School District is honored to continue the
rich tradition of the partnership between the Cincinnati Symphony
and our tremendous music education program. The excitement and
memories of the opportunities presented to our students will last
a lifetime," said Dr. Gary Pack, Superintendent.
"The scope of this venture reaches far beyond the CSO performing
a concert at Matthews Auditorium. The magical moments will take
place in each Princeton neighborhood as musicians visit
elementary schools, as high school students work with sectional
coaches and CSO conductors, and as the community comes together
to applaud and support our city's world-class orchestra and
Princeton's commitment to music education for all students," said
Trista Emmons, Orchestra Director, Princeton High School.
